Journeys End by RC Sheriff :: English Literature

Journey’s End R.C Sheriff composed Journey’s end in 1928. The play was composed 10 years after the war had completed to let people’s feelings emotions and feelings about the war settle down. The play is set close to the finish of the war, in 1918, along the western front in France. Sheriff set the entire play in one setting so it is simpler to arrange, it customizes it, and it makes a feeling of ensnarement. The entire play is set in the channels, which are restricted, soggy also, cold. They were in all likelihood occupied by rodents and the burrows most likely smelled. R.C Sheriff utilizes satire in the play to help the disposition and to include help from the downturn of war. The gathering scene was where everybody disregarded the war and began to help up. In â€Å"Journey’s End† the lighting is significant on the grounds that it plots what sort of disposition various pieces of the scene are. For instance, at the beginning of Act 3 Scene 3, it is half past five on the morning the assault is normal. The lighting would be exceptionally dull, making a discouraging climate.
